Jeffrey Steinberg is a commercial real estate professional of 41 years with expertise in acquisitions, depositions, troubled asset repositioning, leasing, portfolio financial leveraging and zoning/land use modifications.  Steinberg has worked through the past several major real estate market downturns developing financial solutions for major corporate property owners, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and government. Success has been achieved by asset repositioning, negotiating with loan institutions, property/asset diversification and implementing aggressive lease up alternatives.

Representing the city and county of Denver, Steinberg created, a previously non-existent real estate division for the city of Denver that consisted of over 270 buildings with a value more than $7 billion.  Steinberg brought a private sector vision to the division, utilizing the portfolios owned assets to leverage acquisition or development of new assets required by the city for their operations. The city of Denver doubled in population during this timeframe resulting in significant demand for a new, diverse set of office, industrial, fleet and a 250-acre, multi-use entertainment center. The complexity of this portfolio, and Steinberg’s strategic management of it, closed an average of 350 transactions (acquisitions or sales) annually for 14 years.

As Western Regional Director of Contracting for the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), Steinberg contracted and managed large portfolios of troubled commercial real estate assets including office, retail, industrial buildings, and land assets throughout the western and central United States. This role involved consulting and supervising outsourced asset managers to reposition some of the most highly troubled assets, managing land use changes necessary to complete nonperforming ground up developments, executing land plays and negotiating complex sales transactions of portfolio dispositions.

As COO of a boutique commercial development and management company in Denver (Mile High Development), Steinberg acquired land for development projects, managed development teams for retail and office ground up projects, performed hands on leasing as well as managed leasing teams, oversaw property and asset management and reported to c suite corporate ownership.

Mr. Steinberg brings his expertise in maximizing financial return to ownership with the newly formed team of RE4.  The RE4 team works with AREAS Capital for back of the house operations, while partnering with their principals Rob Cord and Julie Blank. Our 4th partner Michael Foley completes the team with his ground up development, land use, leasing and project management expertise.
